Natalia Stamatiou

Born in Athens. She studied piano with the Austrian professor-pianist Max Hallecker at the Orfion Conservatory of Athens. In June 1992 she passed her diploma examinations at the Parnassos Concert Hall for a large audience and a jury of graders consisting of distinguished pianist-professors from the Conservatory of Athens: Maria Cherogiorgou-Sigara, Zoi Agelastou, Konstantinos Kydoniates. The jury unanimously awarded her highest marks and the first prize. She holds certificates in harmony, counterpoint and fugue, all of them with highest marks. She continued postgraduate studies with the pianist-professor Max Hallecker.

In 1994, at the 8th Pan-Hellenic Piano Competition she won the second prize in the category of diploma holders. She holds the Performer’s Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London. She actively participated in the master class seminar given by the renowned Russian pianist and professor at the Moscow Conservatory Nicolai Petrov as well as the seminar taught by the pianist-professor Nelly Ben-or of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London.

She has appeared in numerous concerts and has given personal recitals in Athens (Pallas Theatre, Estia of Nea Smyrni, Petra Theatre of Petroupoli, Municipal Theatre of Kallithea and Parnassos Concert Hall). Since 1992 she has been teaching at Athens conservatories.
